Company History
President of Blackford Weighing Systems, Ron Blackford, started working as a Regional Sales Manager for a major scale company in 1981 and later became the Western Regional Sales Manager for another major scale company. With twelve years of experience in the scale industry, Ron decided to start his own company. In 1993, he began selling scale equipment and weighing systems from an office in his home. With all the other scale companies in the area, we were going to let them handle our scale service and installations. It didn't take long before our customers asked us to service what we sold. At that time we became more valuable to our customers because we had hands-on experience to recommend a better product for their application.
About Us Now
Blackford Weighing Systems (BWS) has established itself as a
major player in the Colorado marketplace. It has excelled with
exciting applications in the food industry and mining industries.
Special relationships have been developed with major scale
manufacturers that insure these existing and new applications will
continue.
BWS has also established itself in other markets like
transportation, agriculture, pharmaceutical, laboratories,
manufacturing, and recycling. We offer basic scales for basic
weighing applications and more elaborate systems that are capable
of: collecting data; printing labels or tickets; controlling a
filling, discharging or batching process; plus hundreds of other
applications.
BWS has established offices in Denver and Pueblo, Colorado to
support all of our customers in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico.
There are currently six service technicians and two office personnel
in Denver and an additional two service technicians in Pueblo. With
the support of more than twenty scale manufacturers we are able to
address our customer's needs in a timely manner. Most service calls
are solved the same day or the next because we realize our
customer's scale system is their cash register.
